What have I learnt from this video? I have learnt that you have the tools to achieve the goals that I have for myself…..to earn an income while at home with my family…….Thank you.

Hi Marlease
This video introduces that concept. I will cover it in the following video’s with additional resources. The video’s will be made available on this blog with very short intervals.

I thought it was a waste of my time, honestly,

It’s not really a free gift, it’s a sales intro- an intro to you selling something to us

the problem you are facing- is will I return- after this video- probably not or rather your next video better have something of real value in the first 10 seconds or I would close it down.

This is the kind of thing Joel Bauer does, gives you an intro full of hopes and dreams, and then give some pretty lame examples. In factthe more I think about it- the more I am not interested

ya Dave . . . it does, superficialy, appear as a sales pitch . . . however you missed the very essence of what Sean was really saying . . . take responsbility, focus, take action and perseverance . . . without those you will never fulfill any dreams you have . . . and sucess is simply fulfilling your dreams . . .

Hi Dave
I understand there is a lot of time wasters out there and in our busy age, there isn’t much time to get people’s attention. You won’t get a salespitch in the first 10 seconds of the next video, and effectively that is the only way anyone will get anyone’s attention.
The video series I put on here is 100% about giving content and there is no price attached.
Yes, I do sell products, but that is not being sold in these video’s.
Only time will prove this.

As such, I have signed up to the YOTA Interest in the hope that you can provide what I have been searching for!

Reply

Sean Rasmussen September 17, 2009 at 9:40 am

Hello Alesha
Are they teaching from experience or are they professional “educators”?
You see, many have made their online sales purely from selling the system. I have made money from that too, but I never include that in my quoted figures.
The $6M mentioned in the video’s (which is over $7M now) are from online sales of affiliate product – not me selling mentoring services.
So, many actually teach theory, if I can put it bluntly ;)

Hi Sean,
I have been doing a lot of “self work” lately and have stepped out of my comfort zone to try and upskill myself to learn internet marketing.
As a person who did not grow up with this technology it can be very challenging.
Sometimes that critic in your head makes the exercise very daunting and it was reassuring not only to hear about your success and the things you have learnt along the way but also to know that you have probably faced some of those same fears.
I like your down to earth approach and appreciate what you are sharing and hope your knowledge and skill will help me on this journey – I so want to get this right!
Thanks for what you are doing – I’m looking forward to more

Hi Sara
I left GV 3 1/2 months ago. I haven’t been on stage presenting since 7th of June.
I was part of the program but I was not in control at all of the process, what was taught or what was promised, so I left. The use of my name in that program hasn’t been endorsed by me since June 8th, 2009.
I decided to do my own thing and be 100% in control of core business values such as ethics, integrity, honor, quality and everything else that goes with running a business. The only way I can control it myself is to be the Captain of my own ship.

I left in June. Basically, I can control my own ship and be 100% accountable for my own actions. I don’t want to wear the consequences of other people’s actions and that will happen eventually in any business if you are in a partnership.

Glen September 17, 2009 at 1:17 pm

Sean, re the GV seminar I attended. I didn’t like the hard-sell that came at the end. Actually I felt that it was a sly-sell. Sure, it probably is a way to financial security if you work at all the skills and techniques as they were presented. But I don’t respond to all the feel-good la-di-da nonsense. The “whoop”, hand clap rubbish, touching hard-luck stories etc. I don’t mind your matter-of-fact style of getting across the crappy work-life that was taking away from your family life as your motivation though. That resonates. But the feel-good Anthony Robbins style motivational speaker type stuff (again, not really from yourself) kind of put me off. Then the sudden springing on us of “For $18,000 over a year you can get all this….” etc. With no back-out plan if you got a few months in and it wasn’t working for you. They seemed so eager to take our money. Yes, I’m a skeptic and a cynic until I see proof in front of my own eyes and there was no cooling-off period if you signed up.
I look forward to what you present in your videos, especially as you say that no money is required to start. However, that makes me wonder – what do you get out of it?
rgds, Glen.

Reply

Sean Rasmussen September 17, 2009 at 8:38 pm

Hi Glen
A couple of things to cover here :)
1) I don’t do the Tony Robbins stuff, although I do quote his sayings sometimes. But I’m not into US-style speaker hype.
2) Forget about those 5 figure expenses. I don’t sell anything like that and this is not about spending lots; it’s about spending as little as possible – and no, you don’t need to spend anything.
3) What do I get out of it? I make a living online and people do come to me for advice. I sell products online and many times people come to me when they understand I sell the products that help them, because I know they work – from experience.

I’ve been learning about Internet Marketing for about 16 months now and prior to that had no idea this ever existed, even though I have worked in the IT industry for 20 years. The last 12 months have been very challenging mainly because I lost the passion for working for some else – I now have a deep desire to make it on my own.. not only for myself but also for my family. My goals are set and I have a target of 10k per month in the next 3-4months. I am now working on this plan full time and making about $3k a month. Listening to your story has inspired my to work even harder. Thank you for sharing.
Kind regards,

$3k per month is good and better than most do. It is a result of persistence. Well done. The trick is to get above the ‘belief level’ and enter the level of ‘knowing’ you can do it!
10k will happen. Stay in touch.

Hi Sean,

I met up with you at a Smart Profits event. Unfortunately I didn’t get much time to talk to you.
I have spent soo much money trying to figure this out. There is so much junk out there it is hard to know where to turn.

I hear what you are saying about focus, committment and goals. The hard part is trying to filter out all the junk.

Look forward to the next video

Hi Graeme,
It is true, there can be a lot of junk to filter through, and a lot of my own money was spent proving it in the early days.
Although, I trust the content I will share with you in this video series will prove to you otherwise.

Thanks for the info

I hope the next video gives examples of how to do things and where to start.
I am very interested in getting into internet marketing and have read quite a bit on various strategies. I actually went to a geekversity weekend seminar recently and was hoping to see yourself and Sean there, but as it turned out it was run by others (who I guess have bought the company) who didn’t provide info on where and how to set up a free site and start earning money. the sites they set up are within their domain.

Any way that’s a bit of a ramble, just wanted to say i am determined to do this and i am looking for help, every site you go to gives the intro and then asks for $$$$ to sign up for a mentoring program, I am open to paying for info (i have actually joined a mentoring program for ebook writing/publishing) but we need to be sure the info we purchase is of value to us, the best way to determine that is to follow your “free” steps and see how the results pan out for ourselves

Thank you for sharing your “secrets” online and not just chasing the $$$ like a lot of other people do.

Look forward to the next installment

John

Hi John
I do sell services online as well as products. But this site (YearOfTheAffiliate) and especially now is about showing you how to do this with little or no money.
By now, I have offered a free version of my book (in the next post). That will get you even further down the road. I will also show you what to do in the upcoming video’s.

Hi Sean,
We have had some association for over a year now and we have met at some live events, and as such I have heard the story of your journey previously. I am still watching and trying to learn from you, which shows that I continue to have faith in what you have to say. I believe that you know about my daughters ebook websites and we are still trying to develop these, by adding blog content fairly regularly but still struggling a little to see an income. My wife and my daughter mean the world to me as well and I know exactly what you mean when you say they are the motivation for everything you do. I feel the same for my family and I look forward to watching your next video in this series.

Hi Sean,
I listened to your video with interest. But I am wondering how your system will be different or better than others? How would you be able to teach a bunch of different people with different learning skills and time available? I have stopped reading most of the high-promising emails that I got swamped with when looking for a business that teaches one from scratch. But because I had heard you speak in person before I thought I would listen in to this one. The trouble is Sean that all the marketing emails I get are from people who started with nothing and are now rolling in dough and are wanting to teach others how to do it the quicker way. And they all seem to be honest and well meaning too. Apart from being an Aussie and a farmer, which puts you in better stead in my eyes, what is the difference?
I’ll listen to your next video – and I appreciate that you take the time to make them.
Cheerio,
Fiona

Hi Fiona
Valid question. I don’t really claim to be ‘better’. What I do know is what has worked for me and I teach what I have personally done. Many people just sell and teach the system without having done it themselves.
I suppose, only time and results will truly prove to you if this works for you. But you need to invest your time and effort into it (or anything) for it to work.
Hang around and you will get the concept of different learning styles: Audio, visual & kinestetic.

Hi Fiona
I’ve never wanted to spend big money on a ‘guaranteed system’ as I was scared of wasting my money. Sean’s Year of the Affiliate forum has Sean and a group of people (Zodiacs) all willing and very quick to answer any questions posted on the forum. There is no such thing as a dumb question, so whether you are asking high tech questions regarding website designs or ‘how do I change the colour of my heading’, there are resources and real people who help you very quickly.
Those who put their time into it, get results.
The forum is very empowering as it’s a group of people all supporting and helping each other.
Hope this helps

Hi Sean I got the UWC homestudy two years ago. I [currently] am a supervisor in a very big mine. I watched all of the videos many times over but sat on the whole thing for almost two years. I didn’t even paper trade the share renting thing until four months ago, convinced that it wouldn’t work. Then three months ago I got $200,000 together, did it for real and the results are absolutely amazing [$25000 in three months]. [talk about slow learner] I have also developed flexible financial thinking that allow me to maximise the benefits of everything I spend money on. Hey I don’t even know exactly whats gonna be in these videos but I’m signing up, because you guys obviously know what you’re doing and you have earned my trust. Kind regards and looking forward to meeting you in person one day

Bring it on Sean. Even thought I’m about to slam $400,000 into this share renting thing I’m actually a technology addict [commodore64, DOS, IBM386...@#%!.....] and I want it all. I have a website that earns a small amount of Google clicks but when I look into the time I have spent on it I would have been much better off electrically contracting around Port Hedland on my days off! Looking at some exotic cruises at the moment and definitely moving to a different lifestyle. I didn’t know they had 220,000 tonne cruise ships! Some times you get a feeling that you just know it’s gonna happen. I know you are going to propell me into internet success just like [you and] the guy you were marketing for propelled me into share marketsuccess

Reply

Sean Rasmussen September 19, 2009 at 11:56 pm

Jamie. Are you sure those 220,000 tonne ships don’t carry iron ore? :D There are plenty of those babies up there. I used to pearl dive out of Port Hedland, Dampier, Onslow and Exmouth. We steamed past a few of those big ships in our days.

Hi Sean
I have been reading with much interest all the resources that I have received so far from you and since my first 2 day weekend seminar in May this year when I first met Shaun and the rest of the team. Great people. I went into this with much scepticism and but I am still greatly drawn into this. I have tried dabbling with blogging, affiliate internet marketing, but my IT skills in understanding how to set this properly up has been lacking. With a young family and working essentially full time, including after hours has been extremely difficult in dedicating quality time to this. I also have spent a fair bit of money in purchasing various software and marketing programs that promise regular income patterns, does the work for you as well as have the year of the affiliate ebook. Ultimately this is still my goal that I want to leave my job to have more balance in my life. I still do believe it is achievable. I will be watching with great interest your videos that I hope I will be able to get something off the ground eventually. Thankyou again and very kind regards.

Hi Sean,

Great video and informational. I am in GV and met you in Perth in March, but still enjoy your positivity. I have had some great success and then hit some brick walls, but hoping to get back on the horse very soon.

Would be interested to know if the now $7m in sales is profit or purely sales amount?, thus the profit is more likely 10% of your sales? This would help myself and others understand the actual financial potential.

Keep up the good work,
Simon

Sean Rasmussen September 19, 2009 at 12:22 am

Hi Simon
The $7M is gross product sales. So I collected a commission for that. I’m not sure what the profit was, but I collected more than half in commissions.

Reply

Sean Rasmussen September 18, 2009 at 8:47 am

Hello Ken,
It can take a little time to load, you could try letting it load fully before watching the whole video.
To do this, straight after pushing play and the video starts, pause it, you should see a little gray bar that fills the timeline. Let that load to the end, then push play and you should be able to watch it straight through without it stopping.

Thanks so much for the leaked version of YOTA. I’m devouring every bit of information as I’m a “newbie” to Internet marketing. A serious car accident a few years back has left me struggling to survive each week & I decided a month or so ago to get off the disability pension & earn over $1k per month (for starters) by doing Internet marketing. I had no idea how I would do this but I was scraping together some money to save up & buy a hard copy of YOTA. Then you gave me a FREE copy of the leaked version! I should’ve known that a way would be found if I remained positive & confident.

As soon as I can afford it then I’ll buy the hardcover.

Thanks Sean for making a big difference (already) to my current situation.

Thank you. I appreciate your feedback.
As I have been marketing products online since 2004, there are now a lot of people that know me (or know of me). The beauty is that my true colours are known to most people and they are not colours that I am afraid to show ;)
It is a small world and not enough marketers realise that they must act with truth, ethics, honor and integrity at every turn, or the world of the internet (and social media) will bury them very fast.
Thanks for commenting, Robyn.
