Keep Money And SEO Flowing With An Article A Day

by Sean Rasmussen on July 29, 2010

Article writing on a continuous basis is one of the smartest things an internet marketer can do for keeping two important things flowing: traffic and money.

Article Writing To Keep SEO And Money FlowingArticles do help you profit. They draw traffic to your site, they provide search engine optimisation, and they help you to continually build your brand.

A well-crafted and optimised article strategy can help you continually expand your ability to make money online. Here are some tips to help you keep online content flowing:

Join Challenges

There’s nothing quite like a good challenge to get you motivated. Ezinearticles has one called #HAHD. HAHD stands for Hundred Articles Hundred Days. Imagine the traffic, rankings, and potential sales that could come from 100 different articles pointing to your website(s)? Not just will you get those links but you’ll get links through social media and through article syndication as well.

Article Syndication

Speaking of article syndication, make sure that while you continually publish content on your website, blog, etc. that you also submit original articles to sites that allow for syndication. By publishing content on other sites, you get a valuable backlink and an increased chance of being noticed by new potential clients.

Subscribe To Your topic

One of the challenges of continually posting valuable content is to come up with ideas. The internet is an endless source of inspiration but you don’t always have the time to sit and research for ideas.

Don’t dismay. Get the research spoon fed to you. Set up your feed reader to get fed blogs and articles on your favourite subjects and set up some Google Alerts so that when you’re ready to sit down and write, you’ve got plenty of inspiration and ideas at your fingertips.

Schedule Your Time

Maybe you don’t feel it’s practical to sit down and write an article every single day but could you spend a few hours one day each week? Some internet marketers have designated days per month for various activities and you could spend time producing content for your blogs, article marketing sites, and creating for Web 2.0 pages and then space distribution out over the month.

Online content sells. It sells your brand, it sells ideas, it persuades, and it helps you gain valuable organic search engine rankings. Strategise to create as much content as possible and you will start to see a steady flow of traffic and sales or affiliate marketing commissions.

Great idea, Sean, I love the idea of self branding. As a business owner myself, I appreciate your comments about scheduling time. As you stated in the concluding few pages of your great book, Mindset Mastery: Think your way to Universal Wealth: Life is not short. It is the longest thing anyone ever does. Since we met up on Sunday here in Briz Vegas, my twitter.com/ianballantine followers have grown my over 35%; such is the power of One. Thanks for the WET, we’ve now had enough rain until we meet again. All the very best – Ian Ballantine.

This is a fantastic article Sean!

Being pressed for time, it’s often difficult to contemplate sitting down to write an article a day, or even every week, as I may not feel inspired at the time. And trying to write a multitude of articles around the same topic often leads to brain-drain & writers block for me. So it’s a valuable thought to set up a feed reader & Google Alerts to help contribute some ideas & notes towards the next round of article writing sessions! :)

Scheduling time is probably the critical element for staying on the pace for regular and sufficient article submission that can have a real affect.

Some do it daily – e.g. at set time. Others set aside a whole day for article writing.

One other cool idea is to, first of all, draw up a list of your topics (preferably with sub headings) so that when you do sit down – you already have something to write about – and can get straight into and not waste that scheduled time hummimg and hawing about what to write.

Where to get ideas for that list? – as Sean says subscribe to your topic. Another way is to simply use a long tail of it and search in Google – look at the entries and often even the title will give you an idea – or, if needed have a scan read of the article.

Have topics and ideas, but no time? If your budget permits, consider outsourcing to some company like Elance.

Hi Sean,

I really like the sound of the hundred days hundred articles challenge that Ezine Articles runs. It would be huge but I think I’d really struggle to fit it in. I’d really like to see how many days I could do if I had to. I think it would be a lot more than I think.

I want to improve my article marketing and that sounds like a great way to do it.

Hey I know what your talking about, I signed up for the hundred articles in a hundred days but haven’t really kept up with it… I kept getting my article submissions declined which got very annoying & I moved on to other things.

Hundred Articles in a Hundred Days? Now that’s dedication. But exactly as you say Sean. Can you imagine the boost to your backlinks and traffic that would come?

Now imagine if you were to write an article a day for a year (give or take a few for holidays, etc)…

While it seems very difficult, it is achievable and something that I will attempt in the future.

It certainly is a big task Cemil, but yes, the benefits of doing so could be huge ;-)
