Year Of The Affiliate – What It Is and How it Works

by Sean Rasmussen on September 25, 2009

Year Of The Affiliate 2.0Welcome back to Year Of The Affiliate. Let me take a moment to tell you what Year Of The Affiliate 2.0 is – so you can make an informed decision that is in YOUR best interests and is right for you.

YOTA is different from anything else. Here’s why:

Reason #1:
I have created YOTA with the unique needs of beginner’s in mind. This means I don’t assume ANY prior knowledge and I show you how to get started and making your first $ online from the ground up.

Reason #2:
I ASSUME you don’t have time to spend hours on this per day. I ASSUME you can only do this in your spare time. This means I only share with you the strategies and tips I KNOW (and have proven) to work on limited time and on a shoe string budget.

Reason #3:
I have made the entire process step by step. So anybody can understand how to do it. Start at the beginning and keep working through each chapter one step at a time. Simple. Easy. No information overload.

When we launch the program you will get a very detailed explanation of everything that is included, so please keep a sharp eye out for details (we haven’t decided yet but YOTA will likely be open only for a few days, and then we will but shutting the doors).

Anyway, I am holding a FREE webinar that explains everything on Monday 28th September 7pm EST (Australian Eastern Standard Time). Hi, Sean,

UWCBlog has stopped accepting new members, is that right? Also, I just found out wordpress.com actually bans members from creating affiliate blogs for selling products. I am getting a bit confused and concerned now. Looks like there are lots of restrictions we need to look out before we openly advertise for affiliate programmes.

Sean Rasmussen September 26, 2009 at 7:14 am

Hi Tess
UWCBlog is still accepting members and will for the next week, at least. I suspect you are having email issues. On the video I mention that emails such as hotmail, yahoo and some others will block my domain (uwcblog.com), but reliable email providers such as gmail will work almost everytime.

Thanks, Sean,

I have registered the Webinar. Never went to one before, wondering whether I have to upgrade my ADSL speed before Monday.

Have a nice weekend.

If you have ADSL, that is good enough, Tess. See you there on Monday night.

Hi Sean

I live in Australia but unfortunately work afternoon shifts and won’t be able to make the webinar.

Will you be recording it so I can listen on Tuesday morning?

Reply

Sean Rasmussen September 26, 2009 at 7:10 am

Hi Graeme
I will seriously consider doing that. Stay tuned with this blog or stay on the Early-Bird List for notifications about updates.

Sorry, Sean or anyone who is reading the blogs,

I registered the webinar hours ago but haven’t got any confirmation email. Is it the case with your guys? Do we get any confirmation email at all?

Thanks

Reply

Tania September 26, 2009 at 4:43 am

Hi Tess

I did get my confirmation email soon after I registered. Possibly you either mistyped your email address or put a different email then your usual one?

You can also wait for Sean to reply because I’m sure if there is a problem you can either re-register or Sean will fix it.

Hope that helps.

Hi Tess
Did you see a confirmation screen with information about the webinar when you submitted your details? If so, the registration went through ok. Let me know what email you used (or name) and I can look it up for you.

Hi Sean,
I registered for the webinar yesterday and this morning received a confirmation with a subject line stating “Your webinar password and user Id”. However the url link takes me back to the registration form and not to my sign in details.
Please can you resend with the correct links. Many thanks.
Look forward to joining you Monday night.
ps I’m having problems linking my Amazon aStore to my site. Following the instructions but no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Suresh
The code for an Amazon aStore does not work on the UWCblog. You may want to try uploading an image or two and adding your amazon affiliate link to those. You can also use a text link so when visitors click it, it will direct them to your Amazon aStore.

Sean Rasmussen September 27, 2009 at 4:31 pm

Hello Suresh,
If you have received your confirmation email, then you are already registered, you will also receive another reminder a few hours before the webinar will begin. Which is when that link will become live and take you to the correct place.

Hi Sean or delegate

I don’t understand the requirement for a password.

I have already registered for the webinar when I received the email about getting a password and when I registered again, thinking I would now be given a password, it told me that I had already registered.

I have a webinar ID but I don’t see a password?

Can you please enlighten me?

Also your emails don’t have a “From” email address, so I have to keep filing them manually, as I can’t create a message filter to send them straight into your folder (you don’t even have anything consistently in the subject line and if I reference the body, it takes too long). Is there something you or I can do about this?

Thanks!

Rachael

Hi Tess, we are looking into the webinar confirmation emails regarding Webinar ID and password and will address them shortly.

My confirmation emails for the webinar come from ‘Sean Rasmussen’ so I’m not sure why yours doesn’t show this. Is this the email you are referring to? If not, let us know so we can sort this too. Thanks for bringing this to our attention and stay tuned.

Sean Rasmussen September 27, 2009 at 4:33 pm

Hello Rachael,
If you have a confirmation email and you are being told that you are already registered then you will have no troubles. There will be a reminder email sent out again a few hours before the webinar actually begins as well.
You will not need a password, you just need to follow the link that will be in your confirmation email or your reminder email that will come.
Cheers – Sean

Tess September 26, 2009 at 1:02 pm

I have similar problem as Suresh and Rachael. I thought the first confirmation email already shows both the ID and password and we just need to click the link at the time of the webinar. However, the 2nd email states we must have a ticket and password but the 2nd link simply goes back to the registration page.

Hi, Sean,

I just realize I have two working spots for the webinar. When I didn’t get the confirmation email for my hotmail within 12 hours, I went ahead to register my yahoo address. Then I had some confusion about the password. Now everything is cleared. It may be too late to cancel the other spot. Sorry for that but hope it can be still a little helpful to relieve the burden of your server.

I am busy on Tuesday so won’t be able to around for the launch for your book but I am sure it will be a huge success for you and will benefit everyone there for the occasion. Oh yes, I may waste the early bird offer too but I will be on the road somewhere midday Tuesday. Maybe I can use my Blackberry but I doubt it will be powerful enough. Well I guess I can only come back Tuesday night to check some leftover information.

Anyway best regards to you and all your YOTA fans.
Tess

Hi Sean. the videos are great. Only I may have missed the instruction, but did you tell us how we get the ‘Link’ intially. Is it that we select a product and then make one up? I apologise now, I really am very new at this but very eager to learn.

Sean Rasmussen September 30, 2009 at 1:23 pm

Hi Becs
You get the link when you join an affiliate program. It arrives, normally, in an email.

Hi Sean,
Webinars are a great way to be learning online Affiliate Marketing and this one is no exception.

Hearing your story is inspiring. I’m sure many people could relate to this story. A story of working long hours and realizing that they are missing out on seeing their children growing up. They realize that they’re working long hours in a job they don’t particularly like and they are unsure aboout what they can do about it.

They are people like me as well, who can benefit from the What It Is and How It Works Webinar you have available.
